Purge Troopers are enemies in the Star Wars: Jedi series
Summary[]
Purge troopers are a specialized class of Imperial soldier trained and equipped to assist the Inquisitors in hunting down Jedi and other Force-sensitive beings who threaten the Empire. Borrowing tactics and methods first used by the Republic soldiers that accompanied Jedi generals during the Clone Wars, this elite group is few in number and keeps out of the public eye. Most citizens of the Empire are unaware they even exist.
Purge Troopers used clone wars weapons such as the DC-15 series of weapons, the DC-15A Carbine and its modification the DC-15LE, however some Troopers used modern Imperial Weapons such as the E-11 Blaster Rifle. Purge Troopers were given special weapons for close quarter combat including Electrobatons, Electrostaffs and Electrohammers, Commanders meanwhile preferred ranged weapons. These specialized melee weapons made them effective against Jedi wielding lightsabers.

History[]
Purge Troopers were a variant of Stormtroopers that were tasked with hunting down Jedi Knights that had survived Order 66. Originally composed of Clone Troopers, they were eventually supplemented and replaced by non-clone human recruits drawn from the Stormtrooper Corps. They were sometimes assigned to an Inquisitor, as in the case of two Purge troopers serving under the Second Sister in her hunt for Cal Kestis. They are regularly deployed in imperial structures and the Inquisitorial fortress.
Purge Troopers were encountered on several planets under Imperial occupation and were often sent alongside regular Stormtroopers. Cal encountered multiple Purge Troopers inside the Fortress on Nur. Several Purge Troopers were with the main attack force that stormed the Jedi Archives on Jedha. Some Purge Troopers were sent to the Imperial ISB base on Navo Garon after Vader believed the base was a waste of credits and resources, after Cal Kestis was discovered in the base the Purge Troopers killed all ISB personal.
Fighting[]
Purge Troopers employ advanced defensive and offensive techniques, such as rolling, blocking, grenades and combo attacks. Often the best technique against them is to repel the attack, knocking them off balance, and getting some shots in. You can also use the Force, but pushing is often ineffective, pulling can result in getting hit, but slowing them down can allow you to get powerful hits in. However, this drains your precious reserve of Force energy.
